Head coach of Medeama SC, Prince Owusu believes his players can succeed in the ongoing CAF Confederation Cup competition despite their draw against Young Africans of Tanzania.

Medeama, who is Ghana’s sole representative in Africa, managed a 1-1 draw away against Tanzanian Club Young Africans in the CAF Confederations Cup on Saturday afternoon to make their chances of qualifying from the group slim.

The Yellow and Mauves are currently in 3rd place in group A with 2 points after 3 games played in the first round of matches in the four team group but Coach Prince Owusu is confident his young lads who are hungry for success can lead him to victory.

“We wanted to win but we find it very difficult. We had a clear chance that we should have converted it in the last minute but maybe that is how it was made to be. We will go back and prepare ourselves to face them in the return league. He told the media. “We watched how they play their football and we spotted their best players on the field so we tried to hold them not to have a good day but we made a mistake and in the first minute and we conceded a goal. “We have a young squad who are hungry for success and I believe when you leave them to perform, the can do better because we had more chances but we couldn’t convert them.” Owusu added. The Ghana FA Cup and Super Cup Champions will host Young Africans in the return encounter at the Essipong Stadium in two weeks.
