Hillary Boateng, the Ghana Women's Premier League Committee chairperson has expressed her sadness upon finding out that a promising female footballer has gotten herself pregnant during the coronavirus period.

The Women's Premier League, together with other leagues in Ghana were suspended in March and the Ghana Football Association have announced that they will make a decision on June 30.

It has been reported that GFA is seeking the government's help in easing restrictions for the resumption of football activities.

During this period, the women have been forced to stay home and without football, one of them has gotten pregnant.

"I felt so sad when I was told one of my girls has been impregnated during the lockdown period. She is a player who is very good and has a promising career so its very worrying," Boateng told Adom FM.

"I will plead with my female footballers not to allow themselves to be used and dumped."
