Publishers go cold on next book for Everton striker Rooney

The book deal for Everton striker Wayne Rooney has gone cold.

The Daily Mail says Rooney has had two books shelved by publishers after his first couple failed to sell as well as had been hoped.

The Everton striker penned a blockbuster five-book deal with HarperCollins in 2006 worth £5million, but My Story So Far (2006) and My Decade in the Premier League (2012) didn't hit the heights.

And now the Manchester United legend is set for just one more big autobiography.

England's displays in the last two major tournaments, the World Cup in 2014 and the European Championships in 2016, have contributed to there being no more releases in the meantime.
