Pundit Robbie Savage Backs Liverpool to Win Premier League Title by Just Edging Out Rivals Chelsea

Football Pundit Robbie Savage has backed Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool to win the Premier League title this season, and has suggested that they will be closely followed by rivals Chelsea.

The Reds have started the campaign in scintillating form, sitting top of the table with 26 points, and winning eight of their opening 11 games, as well as topping the goal-scoring charts with 30 in total thus far.

And the former Birmingham midfielder Savage has predicted that Klopp's men have what it takes to go all the way and win their first modern day title, but will be pushed very close by Antonio Conte's Chelsea, noting their 5-0 demolition over Everton as a turning point for the Blues.

Speaking to theDaily Mirror, Savage said: "Chelsea were absolutely scintillating when they put five past Everton- butLiverpoolare the team to watch this season.

"It seems anything Antonio Conte can do, Jurgen Klopp can do even better - and Liverpool could have scored 10 against Watfordthe next day before they settled for just six.

Liverpool might be top of the league, but neighbours Everton have had a new boiler unit fitted at Goodison.

"Back in August, I tipped Klopp to lead the Liver bird back into the top four, but now I actually believe they can win the title this season.

Despite admitting that there is still a long way to go in the season, as well as a number of other challengers who could pip them to the post, Savage has lauded Liverpool's performances against the bigger sides.

"Of course, we are only 11 games in and there is a long way to go," Savage continued.

"Manchester Cityhave played some exotic stuff under Pep Guardiola and Arsenalare unbeaten since losing to Liverpool on the opening weekend.

"But the Reds' high-pressing, high-scoring, high-octane football under Klopp is the one to watch."
