Former Ghana star Quincy Owusu-Abeyie netted a free-kick for the Team B of NEC NIjmegen in their 2-0 friendly win over German side SV Hönnepel-Niedermörmter on Wednesday.

Owusu-Abeyie and Andre Fomitschow both scored their goals for Nijmegen from a direct free kick.

The clash against the team from the German fifth division took place at Sportpark South in Groesbeek.

NEC were without a couple of first team regulars who are away with their national teams.

Nijmegen scored the opener early in the game through a well-placed free kick by Owusu-Abeyie.

Nijmegen were dangerous throughout the clash but the final pass always went wrong.

Just before the end of the game, NEC managed to score a goal again from a free kick. This time it was Andre Fomitschow who struck from a free kick.

Abeyie played for Netherlands as a youth international before switching nationality to represent Ghana where he earned 18 caps and played at the 2010 World Cup finals.
