Rangers have completed the signing of Joe Dodoo after the former Leicester striker agreed a four-year deal with the Ibrox outfit. The 21-year-old frontman has spent the past week training with Mark Warburton's team and has impressed enough to become Gers' ninth summer signing.

Now he hopes to fulfil his potential under his new boss' guidance.

Dodoo told RangersTV: "The way the club is moving forward now is great. They are back in the highest level [of Scottish football] again and are looking to strive forward to become the Rangers we all know.

"The way the manager has the team playing suits me and he is also about developing young players, which is good for me.

"Did I have other options? Yeah of course but sometimes it's about making a decision based on what is best for me and I felt the manager here is the best one to nurture me and make me the player I want to be."

Dodoo made his breakthrough into Claudio Ranieri's Premier League-winning squad last season but has rejected fresh terms at the King Power Stadium to move north.

Gers, though, will have to pay the English outfit compensation of around #200,000.

Dodoo netted a hat-trick on his Leicester debut in a Capital One Cup clash with Bury before scoring against West Ham later in the same competition.

Warburton will hope he can provide the same kind of firepower to the Light Blues as they now aim to make their mark on their return to the Ladbrokes Premiership.

His signing is a further boost after the club confirmed goalkeeper Wes Foderingham and defender Rob Kiernan have both agreed one-year contract extensions,
