Qatar-based Al-Gharafa have confirmed that their Ghanaian-defender Rashid Sumaila has received an invitation to join Ghana's squad for the 2017 AFCON in Gabon.
The call-up marks a return for Sumaila after two years - stretching back to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
His call-up comes on the back of some solid performances since joining Al Gharafa from Al Qadsia in Kuwait.
It also represents his first invitation under current Ghana coach Avram Grant who is keen to bolster his defence for the AFCON.

Our club received a letter from the Ghanaian Football Association requesting approval to join defender Panthers Rashid Soumaïla camp preparatory to Ghana and to be held in the UAE sister from the second of January next year and until the thirteenth of the same month in the framework ready for Ghana to participate in the Championship Africa 2017 in Gabon, which will be held in the period from the thirteenth of January next year and until the tenth of the month of February.
