Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru was left gutted following Red Bull Salzburg's defeat to Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

Ashimeru made his UCL debut for his side as they suffered a 4-3 loss at Anfield in their matchday twpo fixture.

The 21-year-old midfielder came off the bench in the 78th minute to replace Zlatko Januzovic at Liverpool.

Liverpool held off a stunning fightback by Red Bull Salzburg as they trailed 3-0 in the first half but battled back to 3-3 before Mohamed Salah grabbed the winner midway through the second half.

Salzburg fell short but the away fans were cheering and singing long after the final whistle.

Ashimeru said: ‘Gutted by the results but Great Fighting Spirit?. Champions League Debut Last Night ✅. #Maker’
