The goalkeeper made his debutfor the La Liga giants in 1999, having originally signed on as a youngster for the club back in 1990. Casillas also made history with Spain, winning the Euro's twice in 2008 and 2012 as well as the World Cup in 2010.

His status as a true legend of football has been secure for some time now, and he was famously overcome with emotion when he announced he was leaving for Porto in 2015.

However, the 35-year-old's career has not been without its difficulties.

He has hada noticeably strained relationship with former Real boss Jose Mourinho. The current Manchester United boss decided Casillas was not good enough to be the number one goalie at Real, replacing him with the likes of Antonio Adan and Diego Lopez.

And it seems the wounds are yet to heal. Taking part in a Q&A on Twitter, Casillas responded in brutally honest fashion when asked who he would like to see for dinner out of Mourinho, Alvaro Arbeloa and Xabi Alonso.

The word "tigo" translates to "with you" in English, effectively meaningCasillas doesn't count any of Mourinho, Arbeloa or Alonso as current friends. Even though the three Spain internationals achieved great success at domestic level with Real and on the international stage with Spain, it doesn't look as though they've kept in touch.
