The Portuguese international picked up a knee injury in the final of Euro 2016 summer, but despite leaving the field earlier than expected, his teammates were able to come out as 1-0 winners over hosts France for the country's first ever piece of silverware in the competition.

Ronaldo has since been in rehabilitation back in Madrid with the medical team, missing out on playing in the first two games for Real Madrid in La Liga, as well ashis country's fixtures against Switzerland and Gibraltar this week.

However, fans of the Los Blancos star player will be delighted by the recent news displayed by Ronaldo himself on Instagram, which showed a picture of the player in training with the caption 'soon', but a date is still to be confirmed.

The former Manchester United forward could be in line to make his La Liga return against Osasuna at the Bernabeu on September 10th after the international break, and should also be fit for the club's opening Champions League group match against Ronaldo's former club Sporting Lisbon four days later.
