Ghanaian centre back Mohammed Salisu put up an admirable display as Real Valladolid recorded a slim 2-1 win over Leganes in La Liga.

Valladolid got off to a fantastic start at the Estadio Municipal de Butarque. Unal Enes gave them the lead after just two minutes with a good finish. They held on to the slender lead until the break.

In the second half, they did not take their foot off the gas. Ruben Alcaraz made it two just nine minutes after the break.

Leganes had a glimmer of hope when they were awarded a penalty in the 83rd minute. Oscar converted the spot kick but Valladolid managed to hold on for the win.

The visitors are currently 14th on the log with 32 points and Leganes are 19th with 23 points. Salisu has made 27 appearances in La Liga this season.
