Major energy drinks company Red Bull reportedly have astrong interest in adding an English football club to their current football portfolio, according to theDaily Mail.

In recent years, Red Bull has become one of the leading global sponsors of sport in general and have made their presence felt in the footballing world with the purchase of teams such as RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg.

It is understood that the energy drinks supplier have identified an English football team as their next target to acquire after holding talks with various football clubs.

And Red Bull's reported interest in an English club gathered further weight this past weekend, as according to the Daily Mail, RB Leipzig Sporting Director Ralf Rangnick was spotted in London attending three matches featuring Chelsea, Charlton and Brentford.

None of those teams are currently up for sale, but reports suggest a number of Premier League and Championship clubs would be greatly interested in a Red Bull takeover for their particular club.

Red Bull, as well as Salzburg and Leipzig, already own clubs in New York, China, Austria, Ghana, Brazil, and own two F1 teams:Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso.

But the 58-year-old Rangnick, who was linked with the England manager's job prior to the FA appointing Gareth Southgate, had been on reported scouting duties for Leipzig, and not Red Bull, with Charlton's Ademola Lookman a reported target for the Bundesliga club.

Leipzig currently sit level on 24 points with league leaders Bayern Munich after an impressive start to life in the top flight after being promoted last season.
