Remembering former Ghana international Junior Agogo

Footballghana.com relive some memorable moments of former Ghanian striker Junior Agogo during his playing days with the Black Stars.

Junior Agogo passed away in London on Thursday morning after suffering stroke.

The 40-year-old made his debut for the Black Stars in May 2006 in a friendly against French league side OGC Nice

However, he was not included in the final World Cup squad.

On November 16, 2006, Agogo scored his first goal for Ghana, the equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Australia in an international friendly.

He became a cult hero after his impressive display with the Black Stars at the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which was held in Ghana.

Agogo scored three goals in the final stages of the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations to help Ghana to a third-place finish

He played for the national team between 2006 and 2009.

He went on to score over 100 career goals after featuring for Sheffield United, Bristol Rovers, Nottingham Forest, Oldham Athletic, Chester City, Lincoln City, Chicago Fire, Colorado Rapids, San Jose Earthquakes and Queens Park Ranger.

He also played for Barnet, Zamalek SC, Apollon Limassol, and Hibernian
