REPORT: Hellas Verona likely to sign Afriyie Acquah to replace sidelined Emmanuel Agyemang Badu

Reports indicate that Italian Serie A side Hellas Verona will likely try to sign Ghanaian international Afriyie Acquah to take care of things in their midfield following the sidelining of Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu.

Agyemang Badu’s services had been secured this summer to provide stability in midfield for Verona until he recently got hospitalized after he was diagnosed with pulmonary microembolism.

The midfield kingpin is now expected to spend several weeks on the sidelines and will only return to the field when he fully recovers.

With the imminent start of the Italian Serie A, reports have indicated that Hellas Veron is looking to poach free agent Afriyie Acquah.

The defensive midfielder parted ways with Torino upon the expiry of his contract at the end of last season. He is available and could join Verona before the season starts in Italy if an agreement is reached between the two parties.

Acquah spent last season on loan at Empoli where he made 28 league appearances and scored two goals. Though the side was relegated at the end of the season, the Black Stars midfielder hugely impressed.
