Head coach for Asante Kotoko, Kjetil Zachariassen is set to arrive in Kumasi on Thursday, November 7, 2019, after staying back in Cote d’Ivoire following the team’s defeat to FC San Pedro last Sunday.

The Norwegian tactician went into that crucial match with a 1-0 lead but could not come up with a strategy to steer the Porcupine Warriors to victory.

A 2-0 loss to the Ivorians on the evening means that they lost 2-1 on aggregate at the end of the two-legged encounter, meaning that they have been eliminated from the CAF Confederations Cup.

The team bus of Kotoko was subsequently attacked with fans demanding for the immediate sacking of coach Kjetil Zachariassen.

Sensing danger, management of the club asked the gaffer to stay behind while citing that they cannot guarantee his safety if he followings the team to Ghana.

Following days of tension, he is reportedly expected to touch down in Kumasi tomorrow to have a meeting with the top hierarchy of the Reds to decide his future.

Our sources say he is no longer needed at the club and management will try to convince him to resign from his post.

Meanwhile, an official communique on the arrival of the coach is yet to come out from the club.
