The 26 year old has been heavily linked to the Gunners ahead of the summer window with most publications tipping him for the move before next season begins.

It has been reported than Mikel Arteta sees him as an ideal option to improve his midfield.

The Ghanaian has a 50 million euro release clause but Atletico Madrid have been in talks to extend his current contract and double the clause which leaves Arsenal in a difficult situation.

Mikel Arteta's side want to use striker Lacazette in a straight swap before a contract extension is agreed. Arsenal reportedly does not have enough to spend in this window and want to incur little cost with the swap.

Lacazette has been in and out of the side since Aubameyang's arrival.

Partey has however been a key cog in Simeone's side, making 38 appearances in all competitions this season.
