REVEALED: Black Stars coach Avram Grant pushing for KPB return

Published on: 07 November 2016

Black Stars coach Kevin-Prince Boateng is vehemently pushing for a return of badboy Kevin-Prince Boateng but the GFA have shot down his request because of the findings and recommendations of the Justice-Dzamefe-led 2014 FIFA World Cup Commission.

Kevin-Prince Boateng was suspended indefinitely from the team after he led a revolt during the 2014 World Cup Brazil.

However, ahead of the 2016 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Egypt, there have been calls for the player to return but veteran Ghanaian coach J.E. Sarpong has disclosed that coach Grant has made several requests for the player's return from the Black Stars Management Committee.

J.E. Sarpong says the Chairman of the Black Stars Management Committee told him about the requests and why the GFA shot it sown.

"I asked George Afriyie why the sudden calls for Kevin. He said the coach wants him because he worked with him previously in England," J.E. Sarpong said on Saturday in an interview on Joy FM.

"George said they told him that they will be unable to grant that request because there are legal issues involved."

Kevin Prince Boateng has scored four goals for Las Palmas in the ongoing La Liga season.
