Revealed: Chelsea's new manager Graham Potter worked as technical director for Black Queens fifteen years ago

English Premier League giants Chelsea have appointed Graham Potter as the new manager of the club.

And per checks, the former Brighton and Hove Albion boss worked with the Black Queens of Ghana as a technical director for the 2007 Women’s World Cup.

He arrived in the West African country weeks before the World Cup tournament to help Ghana’s senior women national team.

Potter, who was the technical director for the Black Queens fifteen years ago was responsible for the technical and tactical training program, match preparation, and team selection.

At the time, Potter was Hull University's football development manager.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion coach became the first person outside Ghana to join the technical bench of the women’s team.

The Black Queens finished bottom of Group C at the World Cup after losing to Australia, Canada, and Norway.

Potter moved on to become an assistant coach for the England Universities squad.

He signed a five-year deal as Chelsea manager, replacing German trainer Thomas Tuchel.
