Richmond Boakye Yiadom scores for Red Star Belgrade in Champions League qualifier

Published on: 13 August 2019

Ghanaian striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom put Serbian club, Red Star Belgrade a step ahead in qualifying for the UEFA Champions League after scoring the opener against Danish side, FC Koebenhavn on Tuesday night.

The attacker finished off a superb cross sent into the opponent's box by his teammate Marko Marin as his markers were caught ball watching.

Boakye was well-positioned for the goal after his marker failed to clear the ball leaving him with no option than to slide the ball into the net at the Telia Parken stadium after 17 minutes of action.

However, that joyous moment was cut short after the hosts grabbed an equalizer through Dame N'Doye before half time.

The first encounter between the two sides ended in a stalemate and a win tonight could see one of the teams leap into the UEFA Champions League Group Stages.

The game is still ongoing, we will monitor actions to bring you more updates.
