Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski has committed his long-term future to the reigning German champions by signing a new four-and-a-half year contract that will keep him at the Allianz Arena until June 2021.
Lewandowski, who became the first player in 38 years to score 30 goals in a single Bundesliga campaign last season, has been linked with Real Madrid in the past but will now remain until just shy of 33rd birthday.

The Pole was voted the 16th best player in the world in this week's Ballon d'Or standings after also starring with his national side at Euro 2016, and has begun the new season in equally fine form with 19 goals from 22 appearances in all competitions so far.

"I am very pleased that the negotiations have led to a positive result and that I can stay another few years with FC Bayern. We still have great ambitions to achieve together," Lewandowski said of his extension to FCBayern.de.
Chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge added, "I am delighted that with Robert Lewandowski we were able to tie one of the world's best forwards to the club in the long-term. This ensures that another member of our team will be wearing the jersey of FC Bayern for years to come."
Lewandowski hasn't failed to score fewer than 25 total goals in a single season since the 2010/11 campaign when he was at Borussia Dortmund and still brand new to German football having only just arrived from his native Poland.
