Jerome Boateng and Franck Ribery could also be close to a return to fitness after both took part in training early this week.

Ribery has been out since September with a thigh injury while Boateng picked up a knee injury in Bayern's last Bundesliga game against Hoffenheim.

Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and defender Javi Martinez both trained separately and are expected to be available. Likewise, winger Arjen Robben's thigh problem is not considered serious so he will make the squad for the trip to Dortmund.

Dortmund left-back Marcel Schmelzer is also ready to return to action on Saturday, according toBild. The 28-year-old has been out since mid-October when he suffered a muscle tear in a 1-1 draw with Hertha Berlin.

Another big boost for Dortmund is the potential return of Marco Reus, who has been missing since May's DFB-Pokal final.

Bayern captain Philipp Lahm has stressed the difficulty of Saturday's game for his side, claiming that they 'need a top performance' to come away with a win.

"The players know this," he told theclub's official website.

"We must be at our best to get a result there. They've shown, especially in the Champions League, that they are capable of football of the highest quality, proving this again against Real Madrid."
