The Ghana U-23 right back was given the gong after his scintillating performance for Dutch second tier side FC Dordrecht against Almere City FC on Friday at home.

The 21 year old played the entire 90 minutes of the match as his side FC Dordrecht fell to a 2-1 defeat in the Riwal Hoogwerkers Stadium.

Thomas Verheydt, a Dutchman, scored brace for Almere City FC and Dwayne Green from the same country got a consolation for the home side.

“I am very excited to win this and it is very wonderful to win this award", Polley said after the game.

He added: “I think it’s the passion and the hard work that is pushing me. I am proud to say I will prove more than this in our coming matches”.

Polley is on loan from Dutch top flight side Ado Den Haag and has played four Eertse Divisie matches for Dordrecht this season.
