Roma manager Luciano Spalletti had no intention of simply ignoring the abuse of the Crotone fans behind him during last weekend's game.

The eccentric Italian coach, having been the brunt of insults from the home fans throughout the game, turned and stared directly at the supporters for a good twominutes. Awkward.

Some Crotone fans were insulting Spalletti and in added time Spalletti stared at them without moving/talking for 2 minutes.

It was Spalletti that would have left the happiest, however, witnessing his Roma side secure a comfortable 2-0 win courtesy of goals fromEdin Dzeko and Radja Nainggolan.

I was just trying to watch the game and not bother anyone, Spalletti told Sky Sport Italia - viaFootball Italia.

Spalletti: "There was someone shouting at me for 40 mins. I made myself at his disposal. If you wanna insult me at least do it to my face" pic.twitter.com/cQtItbacgq

This man had been shouting at me for 40 minutes from behind the bench, so I simply made it easier for him and was at his disposal, seeing as he had this irresistible need. If you're going to insult me, you may as well do it to my face.

Victory kept Roma second in the Serie A standings, although seven points behind league leaders Juventus, who are aiming for their sixth successive Scudetto.

If they do miss out on the title, it certainly won't be through a lack of passion - judging by Spalletti anyway.
