Following his team's5-0humbling at Stamford Bridge,Ronald Koeman stated that sometimes, you have to 'accept' defeat in a game and thatChelsea were far better than Everton.

Koeman was speaking toBT Sportafter the loss and he praised Chelsea for their performance:"They played very well, I expected more from my team. It was a big difference in every aspect."

The former Southampton boss say's the defeat wasn't down to the change of system.

"It was not about the system, the difference was the mentality to win the game. With five defenders we control it, after 2-0 it was over.

"You have to accept sometimes in life your opponent is by far the better team."

Everton didn't have a shot on target all game, and Koeman praised Chelsea's system once again for how they play and how difficult it was to play against them:"It is a difficult system to play against, the big difference with Chelsea is they have the winning mentality and quality on the ball. They were far too strong for Everton."

Koeman later spoke to Everton's media team and he says his side need to show a reaction next time out:The best thing would be to play tomorrow and to show a difference. We need to show a reaction in two weeks.
