KV Mechelen defender Lucas Bijker has vowed to make life difficult for RSC Anderlecht striker Jeremy Doku when the two teams clash in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League on Friday night.
The home team is enduring a poor start to the season and needs to urgently find their feet and start winning to ensure they have a chance at fighting for the title at the end of the season.
Having already played two matches in the Belgium Pro League, Anderlecht is still without a win but is hopeful of enjoying triumph when they welcome Mechelen to the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium this evening.
One player that will be key for Vincent Kompany and his lads is Ghanaian international Jeremy Doku.
Ahead of the fixture, however, Mechelen left-back Lucas Bijker has stressed that he will work extra hard to silence the Ghanaian forward.
In a pre-match interview, Bijker said, “Their right-winger, Doku, has many qualities. He doesn't play at Anderlecht for anything, hey. But I'll make it as difficult as possible for me. I will do anything to stop him”.
“If there is a good time to hit them, then that is now. It's a great chance to win. They are not in their strongest period and the pressure is on them. The role of underdog lies with us”.
