Ryan Giggs Criticises Manchester United Player Behaviour Following Heavy Weekend Defeat at Chelsea

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has criticised a number of his former club's players for "laughing" with Chelsea's players after the Blues had destroyed United 4-0 on Sunday.

He told the Premier League TV channel that the players acted poorly on the pitch in the aftermath of the embarrassing loss, as star names like Zlatan Ibrahimovic were spotted laughing with opponents and swapping shirts. It especially didn't go down well given the manner in which United had performed.

United now find themselves well adrift in the race for the Champions League places, and Giggs was not impressed with their evident lack of care for the result as Anthony Martial was also spotted laughing with French international teammate N'Golo Kante - who had even scored a rare goal in the game.

Giggs said: "You can get beat in a football match, but then when you're getting beat and you're swapping shirts, that is something I don't like.

"If you get beat 4-0, you congratulate the opposition, you thank the supporters and then you get off the pitch. You don't stand around on the pitch swapping shirts and laughing with the team that's just beat you."

Giggs spent 29-years at United as a player and coach - with most of his spell coming under former boss Sir Alex Ferguson - and is understandably upset with United's players for their attitude towards the game as a whole.
