Communications director of the Ghana Football Association Saanie Darra has tipped Ghana’s national under-17 team the Black Maidens to make it out of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2016 tough Group.

The Black Maidens were drawn against USA, Paraguay and defending Champions Japan in Group D of FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Jordan 2016 which starts from 30 September to 21 October.

Speaking exclusively to footballghana.com after the draw, Saanie Darra was confident Ghana will seal through.

“We are in for a real battle on our hands but we are confident that the girls we have in camp would be able to triumph in this group.” “From the preparations that they have had and the history we have in this competition we are confident that we will be able to make a huge impact” he said.

The Black Maidens qualified with a 10-0 aggregate win over Morocco and will seek to do better than their previous feat in 2012 where they emerged as the first African nation to have picked a medal at the world showpiece after beating Germany 1-0 to win Bronze.
