SAFA president Danny Jordaan thanked Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos and his squad on giving the country fresh hope.
Jordaan also congratulated the fans and everyone who came out to see Bafana Bafana play Ethiopia at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday for generating an electrifying environment and making history.
South Africa defeated the East Africans 3-1 and 1-0 in back-to-back matches on Saturday and Tuesday to recover first place in Group G with 10 points from four games, one more than Ghana, who has 9 points.
“On behalf of everyone, I would like to congratulate coach Hugo Broos for bringing back the excitement and renewed hope in our senior men’s national team. While the job is not yet complete, garnering 10 points from 4 games is worth praising especially with this relatively young team.
‘’We got the 6 points we needed from Ethiopia and now the next two games against Zimbabwe and Ghana will be quite interesting. Well done to the coach Broos, the entire team and technical staff,’’ said Danny Jordaan.
