Ghanaian midfielder Salis Abdul Samed has attributed his amazing performances in his first season with RC Lens to the serene reception he received from his teammates and coach when he signed for the club.

Samed signed a five-year contract with Lens last summer in a reported €5 million deal from Clermont Foot.

Having featured in 31 out of 36 games this season and starting in all of them, Samed's only setbacks were missing three matches due to suspension following a red card against Paris Saint-Germain. Speaking to Get French Football News, the 23-year-old revealed the reasons behind his outstanding form.

"The coach and my teammates showed their faith in me from the moment I arrived," Samed told Get French Football News.

"They assisted me in improving during training, and I applied the lessons learned at Clermont while also heeding the coach's advice to progress further. This team feels like a family, which made it easier for me to adapt."
