Technical Director of Sogakofe WAFA, Sam Addy is coy on the position of the club’s current interim coach Akakpo Patron ahead of next season.

Raphael Akakpo Patron, a former Togolese striker assumed office as the stop-gap trainer for the Sogakofe based team, after the departure of head coach John Killa in the early part of last season second round, and helped propel the club to a mid-table finish.

As the club gear up in preseason for the coming season, technical director of the club, Sam Addy says they are yet to decide the faith of the coach, but can guarantee that he will be with the team next season.

Sam Addy said, “Our club is an institution, it’s not being run like Hearts of Oak or Asante Kotoko because if you have followed our progress over the years, you can attest that we always bring people from abroad to assess how things are being done in the team and they have the autonomy to change coaches.”

“But, Akakpo is still the deputy coach of the club and if a new coach is to be appointed by the owners, it means he’ll will work hand in hand with the person because he knows the terrain, meanwhile those of us who are technocrats of the team and the coaches here help the first team coach to do the work together, but if it happens that we get a new head coach, then Akakpo will work with him as an assistant.”
