Sammy Kuffour describes current U23 team as worse ever

Former Ghana international Samuel Osei Kuffour has expressed his disappointment with the current Black Meteors team after failing to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games.

the Ex Bayern Munich Star has criticised Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s side following their abysmal performance at the 2019 Africa U23 Cup of Nations in Egypt, they lost on penalties to South Africa in the battle for the 3rd and 4th place which denied them the opportunity to end a 15-year drought at the Olympics games after finishing fourth.

Kuffour has lashed out at the team for their uninspiring performance.

“For me I think this u23 team is the worse we have ever had,” he said at the Bundesliga legends tour interaction with the media.

“They played as if there was nothing at stake and it is very worrying.

Kuffour joined Bayern Munich from the youth academy of Torino from 1993 to 2005 winning various silverware during his era.

He has a plethora of domestic titles and a UEFA Champions League title at club level and he helped Ghana finish 3rd at the 1992 Summer Olympics held at Barcelona.
