Samuel Alabi’s classy performance inspires Ashdod FC to victory over Maccabi Netanya

Ghanaian international, Samuel Alabi produced a classy performance on Saturday to inspire his Ashdod FC side to a deserved 4-2 win over Maccabi Netanya in the Israeli Premier League.

In a match week 8 fixture played at the Netanya Stadium, the away side showed great resilience and came from a goal down to record a crucial win that has now improved their position on the Israeli Premier League standings.

Netanya opened the scoring on the 23rd minute courtesy a strike from Roi Kahat before Yakub Sylvestr pulled parity for Ashdod FC.

Forward Shlomi Yosef Azulay found the back of the net on the brink of halftime to ensure the away side went into the break in the lead.

Sagiv Jehezkel netted the third goal for the visitors on the 64th minute but Netanya’s never-give-up attitude saw them score a second through Roman Golabart to keep his side in the match.

A pulsating end to the encounter saw Sagiv Jehezkel scoring to complete his brace as Ashdod FC cruised to a 4-2 win.

Samuel Alabi who returned to the victors lineup after recovering from injury produced an outstanding performance deserving of a man of the match award. His role in midfield largely contributed to his side’s win to hand them their first away triumph of the season.

The former Still Believe man is expected to feature in more games as the season progress and will be key to the success of the Israeli top-flight side at the end of the campaign.
