Real Oviedo will decide the future of Ghanaian striker Samuel Obeng at the end of the season with reports indicating that he could be the main striker at the club.

The former Ghana U-23 forward joined the Spanish lower division club at the beginning of the season and started with their B team.

Following an impressive showing, he has been graduated to the senior team where he has so far made an impression.

In the presence of three other strikers, Samuel Obeng is required to fight and keep up his game to ensure he gets to play regularly.

His manager, Francesc Arnau has started planning for next season and is set to make a decision on the strikers that will stay.

Real Ovideo’s main striker is Alfredo Ortuño but there are speculations that he is looking for a transfer away from the club.

The others, Ibra Baldé, and Rodri Ríos have not really lived up to expectations this season and look like their services will not be retained at the end of the season.

Left with Samuel Obeng on the list, Coach Arnau sees great potential in the Ghanaian and will have no problem making him his lead attacker for next season.

This season, the 23-year-old has made 13 appearances in the Spanish second-tier division and has chipped in with 4 good goals.
