Sarfo Duku pleads with Kotoko to draw inspiration from Meteors win over Algeria

Head of Legal Affairs and Administration for Asante Kotoko, Lawyer Sarfo Duku has cautioned  the Porcupines to draw inspiration from Black Meteors’s victory in Algeria as they prepare for the CAF Champions League, second preliminary round return fixture against Etoile du Sahel in Tunisia next week.

Many have argued that, Kotoko would have taken a giant step toward achieving the aim of reaching the group stage had the score line been anything better than the 2-0 win, considering how unsporting some of the north African clubs can be in return encounters.

However, an optimistic Sarfo Duku thinks otherwise. He maintained that, the North Africans have been pampered for too long insisting that, Kotoko can upset them in their backyard.

“We have pampered these North Africans for far too long. Lest we forget, the Black Meteors recently beat the Algerian U-23 side by 1-0 to qualify.

“Of course, some time ago, they had their way of pulling strings but now the game has evolved. They can intimidate us but considering the materials at our disposal and the game we played, Kotoko can score or even beat them at the own background” said Sarfo Duku.

When asked his opinion of the first leg, he indicated that, keeping a clean sheet was a positive mark.

“The good thing is that, for the second time we didn’t concede a goal. Against Kano Pillars we won 2-0 and we have secured the same score line which is an improvement. “Unlike last season when we use to concede, it is a positive mark that we are not conceding and we are looking forward to having an improved game in Tunisia to secure our qualification. Definitely, I can assure the supporters that we’ll qualify”.
