Manager for Italian Serie A side Sassuolo, Roberto De Zerbi is looking to block the transfer of Alfred Duncan to AC Milan after stressing on his admiration for the midfielder.
The Ghanaian has been a transfer target of several clubs in the past transfer windows and is currently strongly linked with a move to AC Milan as well as Fiorentina.
In the past week, it has been reported that Sassuolo manager De Zerbi will intervene to block any move that will see Alfred Duncan leaving the club.
At a press conference over the weekend, De Zerbi expressed his admiration for the player while indicating that his career is his.
"I saw him a little during the week and I only spoke to him with the Genoa game. I love him as a footballer and as a boy. He has been here for a long time. His career is his”, the gaffer said before the Udinese match.
He added, “The owner is Sassuolo and it is not De Zerbi, I can give my opinion. The results are obtained with the players. I have an idea but it must correspond to the will of the boy, what should be done on the market, to many what's this”.
It is now understood that De Zerbi will stand in the way of the transfer of Duncan this month to have him for the remainder of the season.
