Bastian Schweinsteiger has done a Patrice Evra, questioning why it didn't work out for him at Manchester United.
Like Marseille fullback Evra, the Chicago Fire midfielder feels the decision to freeze him out at United was not manager Jose Mourinho's.
He told ESPN: "It had nothing to do with my fitness, it was something else.
"The decision to not let me play was possibly taken by someone else. I think after Mourinho saw how I trained and played and worked as a professional, his view changed. So that was unfortunate.
"I think it would be different if we had met each other in other circumstances. It was hard, but I'm someone who always believes in the good.
"And I kept always the dream to get back for United to play and to help. I continued to do my best in training. And finally I got a chance and I also scored, that was the situation."
