Nsoatreman FC coach, Maxwell Konadu, says his self-belief motivated him to join the Nsoatre-based club.

In his first season with the club, the former Black Stars assistant coach has steered the side to FA Cup glory beating their regional rivals on Sunday.

Nsoatreman FC defeated Bofoakwa Tano 5-4 on penalty shootouts after extra time.

The game ended 1-1 with Richard Dzikoe scoring for Bofoakwa in the 22nd minute and Sadat Mohammed scoring in the 79th minute after Tano goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi mishandled Mohammed’s speculative shot.

After winning the envious trophy, Konadu said believing in his ability to get the newly promoted club to excel in the season motivated him to sign the deal.

“For sure, I knew that I could transform the team because I know what I have and when you believe in yourself, I think it’s the beginning of everything," the former Asante Kotoko gaffer said.

"The self-belief did a lot. It motivated me to sign the contract for Nsoatreman," he added.

Nsoatreman FC will represent Ghana in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
