Serbia's Slavko Matic thrilled to work with Hearts of Oak - Togbe Afede XIV

Executive Chairman of Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV has revealed that Serbian trainer Slavko Matic is happy to be appointed as the new head coach of the club.

Matic replaces Samuel Boadu who parted ways with the Phobians ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers against AS Real Bamako on a two-year deal.

The 46-year-old will work with David Ocloo as his assistant coach. He will also work with Richard Oppong (Goalkeeper’s trainer), Samuel Nii Noi (Youth Team Coach), and Enock Jordan Daitey (Fitness coach).

"Coach Matic was a player himself who derives his motivation from that and was very thrilled to work with us,"Togbe Afede XIV said at a press conference on Wednesday.

"He knows what we expect from him as a club and he is ready to meet the demands.

"Every coach we appoint knows that failure to win the league, as well as our ambitions in Africa are things we take seriously as a club."
