Napoli captain Lorenzo Insigne has reportedly refused to take a pay cut amid reports linking him with a move to Barcelona.

The 30-year-old will see his contract with Napoli expire in June 2022 and hasn’t yet reached an agreement to extend his stay at the Stadio Maradona.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Azzurri want to offer him a lower salary than his current €4.5m-a-year wages. A proposal that Insigne is not willing to accept.

Therefore, his future at Napoli seems to be in doubt as the Partenopei could see him walk away from the club as a free agent next year.
