According to reports, the Black Stars ‘B’ forward has agreed in principle to join Asante Kotoko in the ongoing transfer window.
His contract with Ashgold has expired and head coach Roberto Landi says he is no longer in his plans for the upcoming season.
Speaking to Fox FM Ashgold CEO Emmanuel Frimpong said
“Shafiu (Mumuni) is not in our plans. The head coach claimed Shafiu is not needed in the team (AshantiGold) because we have signed his replacement. His contract has ended,”
Mumuni was crowned top scorer for the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations after scoring four goals after the tournament.
