Singapore hold Indonesia, winning start for Myanmar

Myanmar, meanwhile, overcame a nervous start to defeat Philippines 4-0 in the other Group B match.

Indonesian coach Satia Bagdija Ijatna was not satisfied with his team's start.

“We lost two points when we should have won all three. Given the chances we had, we should have made good on that,” said Satia.

“Obviously, this has made our passage to the next round harder where we will play Vietnam next, who will be fresh for the game as they did not play today (Sunday).”

Myanmar got their opening goal through Naw Arlo Wer Phaw, whose grounder from the right caught Philippines keeper Inna Palacios off guard.

Palacios' goal was breached again in the 23rd minute through Khin Moe Wai.

Wei Theingi Tun (49th) and July Kyaw (63rd) completed the scoring for Myanmar.

“The players were nervous as they were anxious for the win,” said Myanmar head coach Win Thu Moe.

“They scored the first two goals and they seemed to forget what I told them about team tactics after that. But the four goals were good enough.”
