Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson was visibly disappointed after Saturday's Manchester derby, shaking his head in disapproval after seeingUnited fall to a 2-1 defeat against City at Old Trafford.

The 74-year-old was seen shaking his head in stoppage time as United struggled to equalise against a resilient Manchester City defence.

Pep Guardiola won the battle of tactics over United boss Jose Mourinho, as City started much the better side, dominating in the first-half and going 2-0 ahead after just 36 minutes with goals coming fromKevin de Bruyne andKelechi Iheanacho.

Man Utd were gifted a lifeline just before half-time, with Claudio Bravo flapping at a cross, leaving Zlatan Ibrahimovic open to score his fourth goal in as many Premier League games.

United came out a stronger side in the second-half, taking the game to City but they failed to penetrate an organised defence.

The result leaves the Red Devils three points behind their bitter rivals, who maintain their 100 per cent record so far this season.
