Ghana's sole representative in Africa, Kumasi Asante Kotoko expect their star striker Sogne Yacouba back in the country on Thursday.

According to the club's spokesperson Sarfo Duku, the Burkinabe will return to the Porcupine Warriors by Thursday following his 10-day leave in his native country.

His absence has raised several conflicting reports in the camp.

The 26-year-old is said to have fallen ill as the reason for his delayed return while others claim it is a move to demand more money from Kotoko.

“He has left his hometown and is now in the capital of Burkina Faso which is Ouagadougou,” he told Kessben FM.

“He is expected to arrive in Ghana tomorrow [Thursday] by 11am.”

He joined the Kumasi-based club on a three-year deal on a free transfer after parting ways with Stade Malien and has since been a key cog of the team.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko will host the winner of the Cameroonian cup match between Edding FC and Lion Blesse in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup on November 28.
