Ghanaian winger, Solomon Asante earned a place in the USL Team of the Week on match-day 23 which was announced on Tuesday.
Asante’s place in this weeks nomination comes after an impressive display for Phoenix Rising FC game which saw him score the winner against El Paso Locomotive last Friday.
The Phoenix Rising FC skipper who scored a 72nd goal for his side was said to have won seven duels, created two chances and drew three fouls during the game.
The USL made the announcement on Twitter, saying “The game-winning goal scorer @Asante20Magic earns @USLChampionship Team of the Week Honorable mention for Week 23 of the season!”
This is the eight-time this season that the former Berekum Chelsea player and 17th week overall for his club as well the ninth consecutive week nomination for the club.
The former TP Mazembe player is the leading top scorer for Phoenix with 16 goals in 20 games.
Phoenix Rising are also undefeated in 14 games this season and set a new record in the USL for the number of winning streaks.
