South Africa accuses Ghana of 'blatant prejudice' in the World Cup qualifier
Ghana national team

After the controversial penalty kick that gave South Africa a crucial loss over Ghana. The South Africa Football Association started complaining and throwing manipulation allegations at their opponent after the World Cup qualifying football match on Sunday.

The Ghanian football team won only by 1 score and the south Africans has lodged an official complaint to the world football governing body Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).  This controversy seems to be going nowhere as both countries football associations have been going at it for days now.

The game ended on a very emotional note for many South Africans, because they think the penalty kick wasn’t deserved. Ghanian player Daniel Amartey was awarded a penalty kick after minimal contact from South African defender Rushine de Reuck.

Jordan Ayew of the Black Stars stepped up and took the penalty kick which was enough to win the game. This pick was important as it sends the team through to the final stage of qualification for the 2022 world cup in Qatar. More information about the odds for this event can be found in the Wazobet mobile app or on the bookmaker's official website.

The GFA has defended the decision of the referee and referred to the allegations as frivolous, and completely lacking merit on any level. The association urges FIFA to put an end to such baseless inquiries before it becomes the norm for every team that loses on a close call.

It also adds that these charges from the South African Football Association are nothing more than a premeditated plot and a determined attempt to draw attention away from their defeat, divert attention away from their inability to qualify for the playoffs, and unjustly deny the Black Stars' hard-earned triumph.

FIFA responds to SAFA allegations

After receiving official complaints from SAFA, FIFA said that they will examine the charges. FIFA, on the other hand, has informed Ghana FA that it must react to SAFA's charges.

South Africa has requested a rematch

The Black Stars of Ghana defeated Bafana Bafana of South Africa 1-0 on penalties to go to the final round qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

South Africans regard the spot-kick as 'fake' in order for the Senegalese referee to sway the game in favor of Ghana. For that reason, they want FIFA to order a rematch of the game.
