South Africa coach Ntseki to rely on Tau and Mothiba as danger men ahead of Ghana AFCON qualifier

Head coach for the South Africa male national team, Molefi Ntseki will rely on his attacking pair of Percy Tau and Lebo Mothiba later this week when they visit the Cape Coast Stadium to play against Ghana in the qualifiers to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The Bafana Bafana and the Black Stars have been drawn together in the group stage of the qualifiers alongside Sudan as well as Sao Tome and Principe.

They will lock horns on Thursday, November 14, 2019, in the first match of the campaign as they target bagging 3 points to set off to a good start and with a better chance of securing qualification to the final stage.

With coach Ntseki hoping to upset the Ghana team, he has handed call-ups to some European-based players with Percy Tau and Lebo Mothiba being the stars in that squad.

Lebo heads into the crucial game after scoring two goals for RC Strasbourg over the weekend. For Tau, his form in Europe has been devastatingly good even though his Club Brugge side lost to Royal Antwerp on Sunday.

Speaking in an interview as coach Ntseki prepares for the arrival of his players, he shared, “We’re hoping that both players will be ready to compete and, hopefully, take their game to the next level".

The gaffer added, “I think with Tau not being played in his club’s last match, it’s something that I was worried about. But I know when it comes to the national team, Tau will work hard to make things happen for us.”

The game between Ghana and South Africa will be played at the Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday, November 14, 2019.

Kick-off time is at 19:00GMT.
