South Africa to land at Kotoka Int’l Airport tonight ahead of AFCON clash with Ghana

The male senior national team of South Africa will land at the Kotoka International Airport later tonight ahead of their crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Ghana.

The team was initially set to arrive in Ghana on Tuesday evening but have decided to come early to ensure they have more time to acclimatize and prepare for the big game.

What the change in schedule mean is that the Bafana Bafana will have two days instead of one to train at the Cape Coast Stadium before going into the match against the Black Stars.

Both teams are hoping for a win at the end of the day to enhance their chances of progressing out of Group C of the 2021 AFCON qualifiers.

The last time the two teams met was in June when they locked horns in an international friendly game ahead of the 2019 AFCON which was staged in Egypt.

The game ended in a stalemate but due to the importance of the upcoming match, neither side will be content with the same scoreline.

This week’s AFCON qualifier between the Black Stars and the Bafana Bafana will be played at the Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday and have been scheduled to kick off at 19:00GMT.
