South African midfielder Hendrick Pule Ekstein is set to play alongside Ghanaian legend Michael Essien after confirming that he has joined Azerbaijani side Sabail FC.
The former Kaizer Chiefs star man is returning to Europe after signing a new deal with Sabah to give them a squad boost.
In his last stint in Azerbaijan, he played for Sabah FK where he managed to score three goals while also providing four assist after 16 appearances.
He returned to South Africa after that stint and has been training in Johannesburg for the past month. In a Twitter post, he has revealed that he is returning to Azerbaijan to join Sabail FC.
He will play alongside Black Stars legend Michael Essien who is already at the club.
