Southampton considering summer swoop for Ghanaian youngster Issah Abass

Footballghana.com can report that English Premier League club Southampton has developed an interest for Ghanaian international Issah Abass and is considering a summer move for him.

The FSV Mainz 05 winger spent the 2019/2020 football season on loan with Dutch Eredivisie side FC Utrecht but ended his stint last week following the cancelation of the campaign as a result of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Ahead of the next transfer window in the summer, Southampton who will look to bolster its squad has identified Issah Abass as an attacker with potential and quality and wants to bring him to the St. Mary’s stadium.

Sources say the Saints are already preparing a bid and will open negotiations with Mainz 05 over the signing of the 21-year-old very soon.

This is the second time the English Premier League is making an attempt to sign Issah Abbas. Back in 2018 the club tried to secure his services from Slovenian side NK Olimpija Ljubljana.

They failed that time but are optimistic of getting their man when the transfer window comes around.
