Southampton midfielder Steven Davis insists he wants manager Claude Puel to remain in charge.
The French coach is plagued by reports he will be sacked after Sunday's final Premier League game against Stoke — with Saints failing to match their sixth-spot finish last term.
Davis told The Sun: “We've also beaten the likes of Inter Milan at home, which not many clubs can say.
“In the league, it has been a strange season but we had added pressures with the additional games in the Europa League."
Midfielder Davis is adamant Saints will roar back, saying: “We are an ambitious club with big objectives.
“We've come a long way in a short space of time — and we're not stopping there."
